Guest Safety Comes First at Saruni Basecamp

At Saruni Basecamp, the safety and well-being of our guests are our top priorities. We are aware of recent news regarding the human metapneumovirus (hMPV) cases in China and India, and we want to reassure you that the situation in Kenya is well under control. The Ministry of Health has confirmed that Kenya is not at any risk, noting that hMPV is not new to the country and our health systems are well-prepared.

The Ministry of Health maintains robust surveillance at all entry points and has a strong rapid response team, strengthened by experience gained during the COVID-19 pandemic. While hMPV is less contagious than COVID-19, we continue to implement comprehensive hygiene protocols across all our properties. The Kenyan Government’s public health infrastructure, enhanced during the pandemic, ensures we can respond effectively to any health concerns while providing a safe and memorable safari experience for our guests.

Kenya remains a safe and welcoming destination, and we look forward to providing you with an unforgettable safari experience enriched by stunning landscapes, thrilling wildlife encounters, and vibrant cultural heritage.
