Mara North Conservancy, established in 2009, spans over 28,000 hectares of rolling savanna bordering the renowned Masai Mara National Reserve.

This critical area plays a key role in sustaining the iconic Serengeti wildebeest migrations, making it one of the richest wildlife habitats in the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem. Formed through a partnership between 12 tourism operators, including Saruni Basecamp through Saruni Mara and Basecamp Mara Houses, and around 800 Maasai landowners, Mara North Conservancy was created to foster sustainable conservation practices, protect wildlife, and support the local Maasai community.
