A Journey of Growth and Dedication
From the beginning, both Basecamp and Saruni’s mission was to deliver extraordinary safari adventures in Kenya’s breathtaking wilderness in a sustainable way. Starting with a few rustic tents and growing into a pioneering force in conservation and hospitality, Saruni Basecamp stands today as a conservation champion, with 12 lodges and camps located in the scenic areas of Masai Mara and Samburu.
Saruni Basecamp operates with a local touch, managed by a dedicated team of over 300 women and men, from Samburu to Masai Mara and Nairobi, with a remarkable 90% coming from the local communities. Our commitment extends beyond hospitality as we are proud members of Mara Naboisho Conservancy, Lemek Conservancy, Mara North Conservancy, Pardamat Conservancy, Kalama Conservancy and Sera Conservancy, supporting local communities where our operations reside.
